 SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, July 21, 2012 !  The 22nd Annual Westhampton Beach Joe Koziarz Memorial Certified 5K Run & Walk on Saturday, July 21st, 2012 is the third leg of the all new Westhampton Race Series Hamptons 5X5K (formerly known as the Hamptons Triple Crown). Registration opens at 7AM on the Westhampton Beach Village Green. The race commences promptly at 8:30 on Main Street in front of the Westhampton Beach Post Office and traverses through the village streets ending at the Westhampton Beach Village Marina & Yacht Basin. Complete details about this race events are featured below !The 4th Annual Westhampton Beach "Kids Fun Run" is a 1 Kilometer "Kids Fun Run" specifically for children  under 10 years of age will start immediately before the Joe Koziarz 5K Race at 8:15. The Kids "Fun Run" will start in the same location at the Westhampton Beach Post Office on Main Street, procede down Main Street to Library Avenue and continue south to the Westhampton Beach Village Marina Yacht Basin. The kids will run under the spraying water provided by the volunteers of the Westhampton Fire Department where friends and family will await the arrival of the runners of the 5K. All participants of the Kids "Fun Run" will receive a commemorative race medal. Parents or Guardian must pick up their children at the end of the "Kids Run" Race Course"22nd Annual Joe Koziarz Memorial Certified 5K Run & Walk Details 5K COURSE – This 3.1 Mile (5K) course begins on Main Street in front of the Westhampton Beach Post Office and traverses through the scenic village roads and lanes of the Incorporated Village of Westhampton Beach and ends at the Westhampton Beach Village Marina & Yacht Basin at the corner of Library Avenue and Stevens Lane - only 1 block south of Main Street. The race course is fast, flat & beautiful! Results are professionally timed and certified. AWARDS – Awards to the first three female and male runners in the following age categories Ages: 12 & Under, 13-15, 16-18, 19-29, 30- 39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-Older (There is a special awards category for Emergency Service Workers & Volunteers including members of the 106th Air National Guard). Awards will be presented to the first three female & male race walkers and the first 3 female & male Greater Westhampton area residents. ENTRY FEE – $20 Early Registration – Received by June 30, 2012. Pre-registrants will receive a commemorative 22nd Annual 5K Race / Walk T-Shirt. Please indicate desired T-Shirt size on the race application. The Race Registration Fee is $25 if received after June 30, 2012 or the same day of the race. T-Shirts are limited and are available only while supplies last. BEACH PASS BONUS – All runners get a FREE WESTHAMPTON BEACH VILLAGE BEACH FAMILY ACCESS PASS for the entire two day weekend of the race for access to either Rogers Beach at the bottom of Beach Lane at Dune Road in the Incorporated Village of Westhampton Beach. Wear your 22nd Annual Joe Koziarz Commemorative Race T-Shirt for beach access with your family this weekend only. Unfortunately parking is extremely limited in the Rogers Parking Lot. Free Parking is available on Beach Lane north of the Beach Lane Draw Bridge. RACE DAY CHECK-IN – Pre-registered runners and walkers should pick up their race number with built-in Electronic Timing Device and commemorative T-Shirt between 7 AM – 8:15 AM at the Gazebo on the Village Green, Main Street & Mill Road, Westhampton Beach. This year we will be utilizing a Jaguar Chip Timing System which uses disposable chips attached to each runners bib number and does not require returning the chip.
RAFFLES – A Runners Raffle is held at the Village Green Gazebo following the race. Many prizes will be awarded all donated by area businesses including dinner at some of the finest local restaurants and gift certificates from local shops, businesses and boutiques. We encourage you to spend the day in our beautiful Village, stop in to these local merchants and say thanks!
PROCEEDS – All proceeds from the Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce Joe Koziarz Memorial 5K Run & Walk are donated and benefit the Town of Southampton Police Atletic League (PAL), The Joe Koziarz Memorial Hurricane Scholarship Fund at the Westhampton Beach Senior High School & the Peconic Bay Medical Center Emergency Room in Riverhead. 5K Race Registration
2012 Pre-Registration Race Applications will be mailed to all previous runners of the race at the end of May 2012. The race applications will be available in the Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce office located at 7 Glovers Lane starting in April 2012 and can be downloaded here and submitted with the appropriate fee. Pre-register by June 30th and save $5, pre-registration is only $20. Registration after July 1 and the on-site fee the day of the race event is $25. The Hamptons 5X5K - Westhampton Race Series 2012
The Westhampton 5K Race Series has grown over the past several years from a three series race most recently known as the "Hamptons Triple Crown" into the current 5X5K. Several local races have been joined together to offer the following special prizes. The Hamptons 5X5K awards will consist of one prize each for the top male and female runner, (fastest combined time for all five races), and one prize to be raffled off among any participant who has run in ALL 5 races.
 In 2011 the Hurricane Educational Foundation Hurricane 5K was replaced by the Hampton Bays Lions Club "Over the Bridge" 5K. The races that compose the 2012 Hamptons 5X5K Westhampton Race Series are:4th Annual East Quogue Wildcat 5K

 Joe Koziarz was the director of the McFarland and Koziarz Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach for many years. He loved the outdoors and was an avid runner who enjoyed running all the local races including the Long Island half-marathon. Joe passed away of a heart attack at the very early age of 52 in 1995. The Westhampton Beach 5K was renamed in his honor. As a tribute to his father’s passion for running, the Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce Annual Joe Koziarz Memorial 5K Run & Walk is directed by his son Michael. Past Race Results
