Joe Koziarz was a funeral director of the McFarland and Koziarz funeral home in Westhampton Beach. He was into running, doing all the local races including the Long Island half-marathon and loved the outdoors. Joe Koziarz died of a heart attack at the age of 52 in 1995.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the emergency room at Peconic Bay Medical Center.

Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce, hosted
the 18th Annual Westhampton Beach Joe Koziarz Memorial 5K Run & Walk
on Sunday, July 19th. Families of runners/walkers received village
beach access for the day, and the Peconic
Bay Medical Center Family Health Fair offered glucose, cholesterol and
blood pressure screenings on the Village Green,
from 8-11 a.m
